The Pivot table is a powerful and extremely useful tool to consolidate data. This is commonly used where some or all of the row headings in a single table are repeated and need to be totalled. But what if there is more than one range or table of source data which needs to be consolidated – how do we go about doing that? The answer lies in constructing a ‘Multi Range Pivot Table’.
The purpose of our Multi Range Pivot Table spreadsheet is to consolidate data derived from several ranges or tables. The column headings need to be the same in each table but the row headings can well be different. The pivot table in the example spreadsheet consolidates data derived from two tables on one sheet and two tables on another sheet.
