About Us – our Excel expertise

derekThe guys behind Accountancy Templates are Zarir Suntook and Derek Storey (pictured left). With an accountancy background and a love of all things Excel, both Zarir and Derek were keen to share their expertise in these areas with others. Hence Zarir’s existing website AccountancyTemplates.com was relaunched in early 2013 with Derek’s input.

Derek writes ” Zarir and I have a great deal in common. Apart from our accountancy backgrounds we are both problem solvers, with an eye for detail and a desire to make the Excel products on our website the very best around. Zarir is an Excel VBA expert and every time I ask for the impossible Zarir always comes up with the solution.”

As a Chartered Accountant (England & Wales), Zarir Suntook has gained extensive experience in accountancy and senior financial management including finance directorships for 25 years until 2008. Since qualifying, he has worked in a variety of industries including domestic appliances, film processing, transport and distribution, computer services and scientific research. He wrote a book ‘Learning Accountancy: The Novel Way’ a few years ago for the benefit of both students  and laymen. He also greatly enjoys developing management information packages using Excel spreadsheets supported by Visual Basic (the Microsoft programming language). His main interests are playing tennis and bridge, and listening to classical music.

Derek became an AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) member in 1996, after a career change from the retail industry. He joined a multi national wholesale fruit company as an internal auditor, progressing to Head of the Treasury department before leaving to become Assistant Company Secretary at a printing company in London. Derek now works with his wife Fiona in their company The Two Storey Partnership Ltd providing consultancy to small businesses. He is a long suffering QPR supporter, plays bowls locally in Milton Keynes, enjoys all types of music and all things new in technology.
